Topic: Power supply

My power supply is broken.
I know Solidoodle sells replacements on the site but I need it fast and I'm not in US. if they had 1 day shipping methods then that would be too expensive.

So I'm wondering, are there power supplies for other somewhat common hardware I could use? I could get a specialist to replace the ends of the cables, as long as it's 150W (12v and 12.5A ).
I've also found some Chinese power supplies which can ship fast but I'm not sure about their quality.  http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4 … p;_sacat=0

Lots of options out there have a search to see what others have been using.  Obviously the quality of the SD PSU isn't great or it wouldn't have failed in the first place so I would worry about that to much.  As long as your looking for a new PSU you might as well go for one with higher output rating (wattage)  As long as it's 12 volt output more wattage is your friend.

I would recommend TDK-Lambda's LS line of power supplies.   I have used these power supplies for more then a few different projects.  They are a good median between inexpensive and good quality. 

apparently the forum isn't letting me post links, so go to digikey.com and type in "LS150-12"  digikey is a big distributor and can ship parts world wide, next day (at least to Canada they do) for $8.

Xbox power supplies do nicely, quite cheap too.
