Topic: can't apply changes to Slic3r in Repetier Host

OK, so when I click on Configure in the Slic3r tab of Repetier Host and change something like number of Perimeters, it isnt saved. I click on File-> Export Config.. and that and the Slic3r window just closes. At first I assumed it saved the changes, but when I click on Configure button again and open the Slic3r window, I see my changes have been reverted back.
Whats going on?

You need to click on the little save button.  A window will appear that will allow you to name that profile and you will want to choose another name to preserve your default profiles.  Then in R-H you need to select that profile with the print settings pulldown before you slice.  You will notice that you can also save profiles for filament settings also which is handy for changing to different types of filament.

Oh, I think I see it now.
There's a save icon button but not in the File menu. Got it.

Yep, just make sure you then select that saved profile in R-H before you slice.

the filament section is also where you select G-code cooling etc and in RH there's a pull down for those profiles also

And once you get multiple profiles, the one that comes up in the slic3r config dialog won't necessarily be the one you had set in the RH window, so if you aren't paying attention, you'll edit the wrong profile, screw up something you wanted to leave alone and make no changes at all to the profile you intended to change :-).
