Topic: Slic3r alternative fill patterns, never work for me...?Any ideas?

Ello everyone,

I've been using Slic3r for a while, and started to sort of committed to it for now, in so far as I enjoy feeling very comfortable with all the settings. That said, I realize there's a lot of transfer, and I'm curious to hear about kisslicer and cura. OFF TOPIC.

Right now I want to discuss slic3r's "slow" fill patterns. Archmeades curve, Hilbert curve, Octagram spiral.

Has anyone ever had those work? I've seen some lovely photos of the fills in theory, but I've actually found precious little about them in person. For me, every single stl I've tried to slice with that fill pattern fails at Geometry.pl Line 674, "not a character array reference."

However, I suspect if this was the problem for everyone, then a google search would explain to me what my problem was, but I've actually found precious little information.

So, I ask, has anyone gotten those special fill patterns to work? If only for aesthetics, I'd love to try them.

Unless the github repository is somehow less up-to-date than actual released versions, or the algorithm is implemented in a different place than the appropriate named file, then many of the patterns are simply not written yet:

ArchimedeanChords.pm - Not implemented
Concentric.pm - Implemented
Flowsnake.pm - Not implemented
HilbertCurve.pm - Not implemented
Honeycomb.pm - Implemented
OctagramSpiral.pm - Not implemented
PlanePath.pm - Implemented
Line.pm / Rectilinear.pm - Implemented

Oh, heh. That's interesting.

I still see the options for:

Linear,
Rectilinear,
Concentric
Honeycomb,
Hilbertcurve,
Archimeadescurve
OctagramSpiral.

your explanation however would explain why the latter three always fail.

How did you realize that they're not written yet? did you just check the files?
