Topic: DaVinci 1.0d Grinding noise

Hi, can anyone help me with this? I'm getting a grinding noise when the printer initializes at startup. Everything is fine until the extruder moves to the rear right corner on the y-axis. Then it grinds as if it's trying to continue to move beyond where it should stop.

Any ideas? Thanks!

any possibility that the drip tray isn't properly seated and the extruder is banging up against it? happened to me once.

Re: DaVinci 1.0d Grinding noise

Thanks for the reply! However, I discovered the problem! The y-axis sensor is not in alignment, so the motor doesn't stop and tries to exceed the stop. So, I attached a thin piece of cardboard about a .25 of an inch to the tab on back of the extruder so that it would trip the sensor and tell the motor to stop. It works! Now on to the test print etc. keeping my fingers crossed! Thanks Again!
