with the exception of the Y stepper. (where a dimensional change means you'll have to move the toothed puller along the smooth rod as it's mounted from the bottom)
all the other steppers may be different sizes, but all have the same mounting holes.
the Z motor could be taller or shorter without any issues, the X motor mounts from it's face and hangs down (this could be much taller/shorter with no issues. and the extruder motor mounts from the front to the jig saw motor, it's not mounted anywhere else and sits on top of the carriage, so feasibly could be anything with the same mounting holes.
Basically, what I'm getting at is, provided that the motor is strong enough to actually drive the axis or filament, then it doesn't matter what motor you use.
indeed if you did manage to burn up a motor, then it might be a better idea to replace with a larger one that could handle the current/wouldn't be being driven to it's edge in order that you could more safely increase the heat in the build area.
