Topic: Errors

Received my DaVinci 1.0 printer last week and have done their 2 sample prints and now am getting errors and the printer is rattling noisily. error 30, Fail message: FWNO, and now the printer won't read the cartridge.  I purchased this for students to use in my class and could really use some help.

I would suggest contacting their customer support. They are pretty good at helping people fix issues like that.

Did you remove the rubber plug on the cartridge? Is the cartridge seated well and the white hold down replaced? Last but not least, you need to find out if the filament is stuck. If it is, you'll have to open the cartridge and fix whatever is jamming it. I have heard of the bag of silicon desicate that is inside the cartridge moving and jamming the spool reel. If it get's stuck it will pull the cartridge hard enough to lose contact with the circuit board at the bottom that they use to track when the cartridge is empty and it won't work.

Now the bad part. If the cartridge got bounced around enough to be "written" wrong by the printer, it may have corrupted the information and the printer won't recognize it. I have a filament resetter so I can get around this issue, but most don't and just end up getting a new cartridge. In any case, as soon as you get "some method" of getting the printer to print again, you MUST find out what caused the rattle since allowing that to continue may break the printer.
