Will Solidoodle make the technology of SoliTouch available for older SD2 and SD3, or is it not downward  compatible?

It's not really technology, they're just using a switch on the end of a probe. You could make it yourself if you wanted to.

The best thing would be for you to build your own mod. I can't say for sure, but at this point I don't think we will be making any  spare parts to make this possible on SD2/SD3.
