Topic: Slic3r Help

I am trying to slice this component for a prototype machine and cannot get it to slice for some reason. I've tried many many different settings but can't get anything to work.

Can anyone help me with the proper slic3r settings?

Thanks in  advance.

Re: Slic3r Help

Thanks for posting the configs.  I tried them and I still get an error but don't know what it means/how to fix it.

08:22:14.044 : <Slic3r> Warning: The input file contains a hole near edge 0.000000-1.000000 (not manifold). You might want to repair it and retry, or to check the resulting G-code before printing anyway.

Re: Slic3r Help

I loaded your stl my cad pgm and saved it as stl to see if that cleans it up.
Both version ran to the end in Slic3r 0.9.7

Maybe its your printer settings.

I attached my printer settings in the capture.jpg,  the gcode in the zip file and the saved stl file.

good luck

Re: Slic3r Help

Thank you!  I don't know what it did, but evidently your cad cleaned it up.  Works fine with my normal slic3r settings.  What Cad did you use?  I designed the part in Solidworks 2012 and saved as STL like I normally do.

Thanks again

Re: Slic3r Help

flyingpole,

Have you tried running the stl thru cloud.netfab.com to clean it up before printing. It can help get your stl's ready to go.

Re: Slic3r Help

No I haven't.  Didn't know of the service.  I'll give it a try.  Thanks again.

Re: Slic3r Help

what I did was save it as a stp file  using InStep V2.0, then read it the stp file in catia v5 and saved it as a stl file.
