Consensus is that it was becoming a liability.  Anyone going there while researching a Gen 5 purchase is going to get cold feet.

I like the sound of that. no reason for us picking sides we all 3D

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs

We totally support all 3d printers here, and encourage honest discussion about 3d printing suppliers.

If we get a lot of Makerbot traffic, it will make Solidoodle look open, reliable and supportive in comparison.

Just dont mention ze firmware, ze GPL, or ze Gerber files for the new control board (which will be a revamped printrboard, but you know... ) smile

But I agree - its good having diversity around here... collaboration and all that...

I think any traffic from other printer families makes Solidoodle look good by comparison.  I'm continually pleased to see that what I can produce on my SD4 looks better than 80% of what I see posted on Thingiverse, etc. ...probably for a lot less money.
