Topic: Settings for printing threads on objects

I attempted to print an object from Thingiverse (#265752) that has threads on the end and it came out with no threads.

Are there any particular settings that have to be used as far as supports or anything when printing threaded items? All I can figure is it was attempting to fully support the threads and consequently came out solid because upon loading the stl file, it definitely shows threads.

I tried searching for threads, stl, and printing; unfortunately this brings up a lot of C++ programming results.

make sure you're using a small enough layer height.. try 0.15mm layers

Thanks, I will give that a try.

That's a cool model!

You may also want to try turning off support altogether.  I did not download the model, but there does not seem to be any features that require support if you print with all legs on the platform as pictured in Thingiverse.

Also, make sure you are not over extruding as this will shrink the overall I.D. in the threaded portion and cause the fit to be too tight on the pipe.

Otherwise, you can always run down to the hardware store and get or borrow a 1/2" NPT tap to clean out your current model...

Good luck!
