Topic: extrudes in manual but not during printing

My SD4 suddenly stopped extruding during printing.  In manual control, extrusion, retraction, heating and movement work just fine but when I start printing the extruder wheel wont move and nothing is extruded.  I would appreciate any help, kind of newbie.

A couple of questions that would help us determine which of a few issues this could be:
* Is the extruder making noise (buzzing, clicking) - i.e. is it trying to extrude while printing, or is it completely silent?
* Is the "dry run" button enabled in R-H - this deliberately does exactly this. I know I have accidentally pressed this on occasion!!
* How do your temperature graph and log output look? Anything unusual (e.g. temperature errors - look for "M999"? temperature drops?)
