Topic: SD2 with an IMac...

Need some help here.  Been working with DOS/Windows based computers for a long time (since late 70's).  Was getting comfortable with the Windows based SD printer.  She who must be obeyed decided we need a MAC!  Got one - Nice but.... (learning curve like a telephone pole!)
Installed Repetier 0.56 for Mac.  Finally got the printer to respond to simple movement commands along X, Y & Z axis'.  Go to the Print Panel.  The temps are set by the Printer Setup.  Which I set at 185 extruder and 85 bed.  Printed OK with PLA on Windows.  Before I touch anything the print panel reads - Extruder TEMP - 0  then a box with my 185 Temp and a set button.  Same for the bed temp, only set at 85.  As soon as I turn on either the extruder or bed heater it goes form TEMP 0 to TEMP185 (box 185), and bed 85 (box 85).  Neither setting shows the temps coming up.  I felt the bed and extruder, and they were getting hot, so it seems to be working, but I have no idea of the temps.  I have selected the setting to monitor the temps every 1 second, but it doesn't seen to be working.
Sorry bout the long post, but I'm trying to get things working with a rather difficult - and expensive - computer.

Thanx for any help.

Hey! your question isn't so clear. Perhaps you could add some screen shots to show what is going on?

Can you show us your repetier logs from the bottom pane?

Re: SD2 with an IMac...

Took a while to figure out how to get a screen shot - told ya, this Mac stuff is new!

Hope this works....

Notice - Heat Off - Temp 0 - Selected Temp 185 - same with bed.

As soon as I turn on either the extruder, or bed, the temp goes here...

I have checked 'Exruder & Heated Bed every 1 second'
I need to see the actual temps

Thanx for any help.

What printer do you have selected?

It's not "virtual printer" is it? Because that's the wrong printer.

Re: SD2 with an IMac...

The port is USB (number)  Don't have the number available, I'm at work.  It is the only USB port listed.  If I disconnect the printer, the port goes away.
