Marketing people never cease to amaze me!
I'd rather have one, for my kids, that prints using playdoh like this one.

Maybe using this new formulated play-doh that hardens overnight. http://makezine.com/2014/02/18/hasbros- … -the-hype/
Hmm, molten plastic, hot extruders and zero accountability. This should be interesting....
But in overall quite ambitious ![]()
Children are, according to many different studies, inherently more creative than adults. So why shouldn't children have their own 3D printers?

At 16 by 9 by 12 inches large, the Printeer is capable of printing objects up to 6 by 4 by 5 inches in size. It also features a removable print bed and auto-leveling, which helps create a smoother finished product.
It wouldn't take much more than an interlock on the front door to make the thing pretty kid-safe, but even that wouldn't be necessary if the product came with instructions for the parents too! (e.g. tell your kid about the hot bits, tell them why not to use it when nobody's home, etc.). Test of the pudding will be whether they've thought through how kids interact with things and how to make the software work for them rather than confuse them - the offshoot would probably would be of great benefit to us older kids too. ![]()
I remember discovering my strong urge to build things aged about 7, rushing into the living room to tell my folks I'd designed (i.e. drawn) a car and now we needed to buy steel and build it please. I would have absolutely loved something like this. Given lego, meccanno and a train set were my favourite toys, I'm here and engineering trains for a living (and your efficient and safe freight haulage benefit
) as a result.
Just imagine what the kids of today and the near future are going to be doing with printers... Our future is going to be quite interesting I believe.
Perhaps even just a bit brighter.
wow looks pretty cool! I love!
