Hi,

Does anyone know of a web site where people needing 3D prints done for charitable, NGO, research, or other human development process can request a 3D print of something? Oviously work would need to be validated for real necessity, for perhaps some would not enjoy paying for the education and enlightenment of a 13 y/o child.

I think there's room for that in existing platforms for outsourcing 3D prints. For example, I would price a commission on makexyz.com lower for someone if their cause was budget limited and seemed meaningful

It's a more narrow focus, but http://enablingthefuture.org/ works on linking up amputees who need prosthetic hands with people who can print them.

What I'm thinking of is similar to what IanJohnson noted, but more like eBay. An eBay for giving. A place to bring together those who need an item and those who can create and give it to them.
