Topic: KISSlicer gcode shows up wrong in repetier.

Hi,

I am experiencing some problems with slicing with KISSlicer and importing it into Repetier host.

Model is STL exported from SketcUp, ran through netfabb, sliced with KISSlicer and imported into repetier.

The model looks good in all steps except when I load it into repetier.

Picture of the problem.

What does the gcode preview in KISSlicer look like?  Click on the Paths radio button and run the slider up and down to see the layers.

Oh my. I see the same problem in Kisslicer. I used the settings provided by your for Kisslicer. The stl comes up fine in pronterface, before and after netfabb. This is a problem with all my SketchUp designed stl files..

I believe the red in the KISSlicer view is problematic areas like self intersections which netfabb doesn't really fix.  Skeinforge is more forgiving of those than KISSlicer.  Do you have Repetier and Slic3r?  You can give it a try in Slic3r and see what happens with that one.

Are you uploading the STL to cloud.netfabb, or using the program?  Netfabb Basic (free) can give you a better idea of what might be wrong than the cloud.

I use the cloud based Netfabb. If I use the Slic3r provided with the Solidoodle Repetier, I get a figure without the holes I want.

Is it some kind of settings I can adjust to make it include holes and cutouts in prints?

Re: KISSlicer gcode shows up wrong in repetier.

The problem has something to do with how you modeled the holes in SketchUp.  As you can see from the red lines in the KISSlicer view, there is a problem with the holes.  It manifested in KISSlicer the way you saw there, and Slic3r couldn't figure it out either.  Skeinforge was able to handle it, but it would be a good idea to double check the dimensions to make sure they are right.

I don't really know anything about SketchUp, maybe someone else can give you some pointers.

I found out of this. I had to use " orient faces" in sketchup. Thanks for the tips. It got me on the right path smile

I have found some files from sketchup made with hiden objects/lines either by mistake trying to delete buy original artist or on porpuse to protect. you need to 1st select show hidden or all in sketchup b4 exporting to stl and edit/delete unwanted objects first.

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs
