Topic: Acetone smoother on Kickstarter: worthwhile or suspect?

Hi all,

just stumbled across this on Kickstarter:

$400 US plus delivery, only days to go.

Seems like they are a bit light on some of the details. I'm quite keen but don't want to back something that isn't developed properly and runs way behind schedule.

Please discuss.

Interesting, though, I thought acetone didn't dissolve PLA. I like the idea of a machine that handles the mess and danger and delicate timing -- not sure if I like it $400 though, but maybe.

The PLA is one of the alarm bells for me. We know it won't work but they claim it without evidence.

I don't believe in magic wink it would be nice to have more specifics on how it actually works.

I have decided against this one due to the fact there is very little on showing/explaining how it actually works.

I think I'll superglue a PID to my presto abs smoother and save myself $325.
