I just got an email saying I could pre-order a 3D printer from them. Interesting to see how well it goes over.

(Mods - sorry if this is the wrong spot. Just thought it was interesting that a shop like MP is starting to offer the printers. I know they've had filament for a while, but this is pretty big!)

I mean, they're not a manufacturing company...Just a reshipper. So they're popping up as a reseller of X makerbot knock-off company. I think it's risky, unless they show a clear reason for being better than going direct to the knock-off resellers that already exist.

That reason would be price, + fixing the original design problems like Flashforge has done.

What Ian said. Plus, they give you an actual somebody to go back to if you have problems, instead of hoping "that guy on aliexpress" is still there in 6 months. And with them being a reshipper, that's what really has me stoked. They looked at it and decided the risk was worth the reward to start offering this sort of product.
