Topic: Support Material

Hello,
About 10 days into this 3D printing thing, and I have a question. I have a Solidoodle 4  and using Repetier-Host with Slic3r. I am trying to print a part with support material and having a problem. So it is printing the support with an interior perimeter that is continues around the entire perimeter and touching the part. When I try to remove the support it is very difficult and even damage the part when removing. Is there a setting I have incorrect?
Thanks
Chad

Re: Support Material

My suggestion would be to slightly decrease the extrusion width of the support.
Within Slic3r find the 'advanced tab then the support material number and tap it down a few notches.

Or perhaps slightly decrease your extrusion multiplier in the Filament settings tab.

This is a crowd funding thing that I'm running: http://www.gofundme.com/bvi140 It's for pretty selfish reasons tongue

Re: Support Material

In Slicer under print settings, Support and Material, make sure the Interface layers setting is something other than zero. I generally use 2 or 3 and that leaves enough of a gap to make removal of the support material fairly easy though you still have to do a bit of cleanup afterward.

Re: Support Material

I had similar issues. In Slicer under print settings, Support and Material,  I increased the pattern spacing a little bit.

Re: Support Material

Downloading the new version of Slic3r has corrected my issue.
