OK, you convinced me. I don't know when or if I'll ever get around to installing it, but it will be nice to have as a backup.

convinced me too !! I just printed the lawsy Mk5 yesterday just in case... I guess I will have to use it sooner than expected !!

You have them in stock?

SD3, early 2013. Silicon 200W 8x8 heater bed, lawsy carriage on 8 mm hardened chrome shafts, E3D V6 and lawsy MK5 extruder, ATX 350 W PSU, Custom build plywood enclosure, azteeg x5 mini smothie firmware, with vikki 2 screen, fishing line conversion and pulley conversion, M5 Z rod. Calling it Gran'ma, going strong ! <3

Note: it's possible to convert the direct feeds to bowden. Look it up if you're up to it! smile

I'm in. What's the difference between direct and Bowden feed?

Direct feed the extruder motor is attached to the hot end.  Bowden the extruder motor is mounted remotely and pushes the filament through a tube to the hot end.

Just ordered mine and as Claghorn mentioned, just a few minutes between order and shipping confirmation, amazing.
