Topic: Combining sliced up models

Is there a simple way to combine individual STL models into a single assembly for printing?  Some of the things on Thingiverse are great, but are chopped up in either awkward places, or smaller than I'd like for my printer. Is there an easy way to combine parts?

I've tried with my limited knowledge of SketchUp, but have nothing but grief with "not a solid" errors.

You can import stl files into openscad and include them as part of a single new generated stl file.

Re: Combining sliced up models

Hello, you can load more than one stl into Repetier, select them both, and save under new name.  Then load the new save, and then select "split objects", select the pieces you don't want, and delete, and then save again your final selections.
Or if the stl you want contains more than you want, select split object, delete the parts you don't desire....and save.
