Topic: Solidoodle 2 mic-6 build plate.

3/8" Cast Aluminum Plate "ALCOA MIC-6"
I will have some scrap left over from my material that i would be interested in helping someone else out if they would like this upgrade.

(1) solidoodle 2 build platform (6"x6") holes included if you supply me dimensions. No heater included. $60 includes shipping to US only.

(1) swappable build platform (6"x4")
$25 includes shipping to US only. This can be used ontop of existing bed i would assume in place of glass, etc.

*bump. Still for sale. Advised to only be used with upgraded Mcmaster silicone AC heatpad. Stock heat pad just sucks.

Re: Solidoodle 2 mic-6 build plate.

diyengineer,

How is it working for you?  I remember your long thread where you tried glass and a bunch of other things...is this working well?  How is your sticking on it?  What heater are you using?  How long does it take to heat up?

Sorry for all of the questions...I have an SD3 and was looking at MIC-6 options.  Yours looks great.

Using an AC heater because that stock heater is crap. Heats up in about 60 seconds. I preheat the chamber also with a pid controlled space heater until it reaches 40c. So far the plate remains dead flat, and retains heat like no other for more stable temps and less power cycling. I believ the heater is the 450 watt silicone AC heater 8x8.

If I recall correctly yours is 350 watt.  Glad to hear it is all still working well for you.
