Topic: Working my way into a 3D Printing business.

Hello.

I first say a youtube video of a 3D Printer in action 3 1/2 years ago and was immediately struck with amazement.  It was hard for me to fathom what I was seeing so to prove to myself that what I was watching was real I watched the video again and searched more examples of 3D Printers in action.

I immediately set out registering .com domain names related to 3D Printing and 3D Scanning with the goal of course, of being fortune enough to capitalize in registering what may be names valuable enough to fund and finance the purchase of one or two 3D Printers to start the hands on learning further to starting a 3D Printing business.

Over the last 3 1/2 years the 3D Printing business has grown quite a bit and promises to expand greatly in the coming decade.
I am heartened by the number of new startups in the Maker and 3D Printing space and I am confident that in time several of the domain names that I own will serve to front The 3D Printing Revolution moving forward.

In my research and learning about the 3D Printing business I have determined that for me the most important area to learn is 3D CAD Modeling skills.  Designing and manipulating the digital designs that can then be sent to a 3D Printer is crucial and seems to the crux of original creation.

You might want to start dumping all those domains you got... when Russia takes over the DNS services I think there will be some rule changes.... or is that why you're hitting all the forums lately???

oh, I forgot why I find these forums not only unproductive, but filled with those that want only to bring you down.

I know, I know..  All my domains are worthless and I should give all the worthless domains I have to you for nothing because you are so much smarter than I and ... well thanks anyway.

I guess in your magnanimous offering to help everyone on "these forums" save themselves you will be contacting all the very large .com domain portfolio holders to save them as well.

Many thanks

Surefire way to solicit customers right here.

FWIW, a few months back someone offered to sell me filastruder.nl. I replied that I'd be happy to pay what he paid to register it. Never heard from him again. Sick game these folks are playing, akin to patent trolls.

There is a man in America who, in 2007, successfully patented dirt. After that went through, he patented air. Last I heard, he was working on fire.
People purchasing domains only to sell them are of the same school. I've dealt with them in the music industry multiple times, and they are all the same creature no matter how noble they try to seem.

OP's idea of a money making scheme is just that. Keyword "scheme". And OP- No. You are not dumb for trying to make money. But when the world wide web is running out of possible addresses at a catastrophic rate (thanks to cash-grabbers like yourself), governments, silicon valley, corporations, and even private investors, have been awaiting the day there aren't enough domains left.
Perhaps you should not be living in the present philosophy with this new found knowledge.

I obsess with science and technology daily, and I know the next move to serve future domains. Let me know if you are interested and I would be more than happy to sell you the information. big_smile

Printit Mason and Printit Horizon printers
Multiple SD2s- Bulldog XL, E3D v5/v6/Lite6, Volcano, Hobb Goblin, Titan, .9 motor, Lawsy carriages, direct Y drive, fishing line...the list goes on
Filawinder and Filastruder #1870.....worth every penny!

Re: Working my way into a 3D Printing business.

I get emails all the time from 'businesspeople' like the OP, always trying to 'help me out' and sell me something similar to the domains we already run... they go around looking for domains that are fairly active and register anything similar they can dream up then expect you to pay 10 to 20 grand for something they cyber squatted for a few bucks... no thanks, I can do with out your extremely gracious helpful offer wink

Oh, to the OP: thanks for visiting our 'unproductive forum' smile
