Topic: Solidoodles Design Competition

Hi All,

If you've signed up an account on solidoodles, you would not doubt have received an email regarding the competition.

This is a great way to promote the site, and I applaud the generosity of the prize.

My issue is the non-eligibility of residents outside the US and Canada.

What I would like to know is if myself or someone outside of Northern America were to enter and ultimately be successful, couldn't we still be sent the prize if we were willing to pay for the postage?

I'd like to enter and would hate for my efforts to be for nothing because of geography, especially considering my previous contributions to the community.

Basically, we couldn't ensure that the shipping would be reasonable for every location. Our plan has been to keep an open mind, and if a large number of folks outside the U.S and Canada wish to participate, then we would be willing to see what we can do. Australia is actually far easier for us than some locations (say for instance, far flung locations in the pacific or asia such as the isle of Neue)

I bet we could make an exception for you Lawsy. Let me look into it with the marketing folks on Monday.

We are looking into the implications of doing a contest in Australia.

Sometimes it is legally complicated to send "prizes" abroad.

Should have an answer by tomorrow.

No palming.

You wont be able to be in this contest, but there will be more coming in the future. We are still going back and forth over the contest rules.
