Topic: Lets talk about quality...

Hey,
my solidoodle 4 arrived this day. First unpacking i got the printer in my left hand and the door in my right hand. The screws for the door was not installed. Many scratches on the printer.... Is the top door closed you can´t close the front door correctly. The  front door got a radius for the "y"stick, the radius has a sharp edge. First using the printer i have to clean the extruder, some broken rod was in there. Such a nice printer with many mistakes.

And why i got an other extruder. I saw few unboxings on youtube, this is not the original extruder or the extruder in the Solidoodle 4 desciption....

The extruder which you got is the new Solidoodle extruder, so it does not use the old clear and delicate acrylic.  Do you think shipping is to blame for some of the scratches?

the inside is pretty banged up! was there anything shipped inside?

is there any fan blowing on the electronics since they moved them inside?

Nothing was inside. Bad assembly. Antoher Problem i got. The bed temperature got a shitty sensor... Max temperatur i get is 85. The pc shows 125....

The sensor measures the heater temperature, not the surface of the bed. This is obviously not possible. The sensor is not "shitty".

Please tell me you didn't use a IR gun to get that "quality" reading.

My expensive FLIR camera shows the readings to be pretty close to surface temp and sensor temp, just fyi. (At least last time I checked)

30mins warming up. 50degrees difference between my IR and the sensor. The IR is exactly btw. the ir is gauged. 15 degrees difference is ok, but 50...

IR gun is worthless on reflective surfaces. Do you understand the concept of emissivity?

Don't blame sensors when you aren't using them properly.

hehe i bumped my voltage up to 14.25VDC give the fans an heaters a little extra kick my bed is at 90* in about 4 mins!

That bed is mighty reflective. If you want to measure the heat you need to put something matte on the surface.
