Topic: Reprap Printer Build

Hey guys. I currently own a solidoodle 3 but would like to build another printer that I can tinker around with. I have already calibrated and did all that jazz with my 3 so there really isn't anymore tinkering right now. I want to build a reprap printer or a delta that I can print most of the parts of with my current printer. Those of you reading this, what printer would you recommend I build? Is there a site that will sell me just the electronics and rods because I will be printing all of the printed parts myself. I currently am thinking about making a Prusa i3. Who doesn't want two 3d printers? Any suggestions or heads ups would be great! Thanks.

Re: Reprap Printer Build

I built a 3DR Delta using my SD3 to print all the plastic pieces, http://richrap.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/3 … lease.html

Parts were fairly easy to round up, RAMPS 1.4, 4 stepper motors, a generic J-Head, and misc odds and ends. I got the majority of what I needed from 2 or 3 vendors on eBay and the extrusions plus some nuts and bolts from Adafruit in NYC. Nice thing about this one is it can easily be expanded by printing and installing expansion blocks between the corner pieces, I already did it on mine so I could use an Orion 200MM heated bed.
