Topic: Error M999

What could be causing an error:

"15:12:01.372 : Printer stopped due to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart. (Temperature is reset. Set it after restarting)"

The Solidoodle website say the thermistor would read 0C or very high in accordance with the error, however my readings are stable at 200 and 220. I changed the temperature to see if i could rule out the possibility of over heating.

Thank you for your time.

Re: Error M999

If you look at the temp graph in RH it should show a spike/drop at the end, check thermistor wires at the m/b and at the hotend more than likely a loose connection at the hotend either with the IDC connector or the crimp to the thermistor like most of the threads with this issue.

Re: Error M999

To see a loose connection in the hotend, startup RH and heat the extruder to 160 degrees. Then have the view in 'temperature' and use manual commands to move the motor around to all 4 corners repeatedly. If the temperature moves very suddenly, then you know to check the wiring at the head/connector/wires.

There was no spike, even after trying for 5 minutes

this is what i went though.

and it just happened to me again.   had to run p.i.d. calibration 3 times.  went away after that.

Really hope this helps.    starting to get frustrated  with the solidoodle myself.

99.9% you have a loose connection in the hotend. You need to pull out a multimeter and track it down. There are many solder joints in the hot-end, and they are prone to failure.

You would be correct sir!!!!!!!     fixed this a while ago,   it was a bad crimp between the thermistor and the blue connector.  new solder and all FIXED.
