Topic: I do't trust the movers

Hey guys, I leave from Japan to head to Alaska soon and my stuff is getting packed up to (hopefully) meet me there.  I don't trust the movers and I would like to ensure that my printer rods aren't bent to sh!t when I am reunited with it.  I was thinking with a few zip ties to attach the head to the chassis? Any input would be great :-)

Solidoodle 3, Bulldog XL Direct Drive, Well Nut for Z axis, borosilicate glass, E3D V6 Hot end, Custom Encloser, Lawsy Carriages with Linear Bearings and Polished 8mm Chrome rods.

I would seriously consider removing the extruder and packing it in the bottom.  Remove the weight and you eliminate that possibility of bent rods.  When I got mine new the whole thing was broke off the carriage and banging around in the printer and left some pretty big dings in my bed.  I would wrap it up well and squish it under the bed and then come up with a way to make sure the bed can't move.

i think a few zip ties will be more than fine. make sure they are snug and put some so the extruder cant move about either.and move your bed all the way to the bottom. you should be set after that.

i still have the box mine came in. smile

Loosen the belts.
Stick bubblewrap between left side Y car and X car.
Tie wrap X car to left Y car.
Put bubble wrap between X car and front.
Tie wrap X car to front frame.
