Topic: New Hot End

I have been seeing a lot of pics of printers with the same "new" designed hot end on the Solidoodle printers. I found a thingiverse link for one that could be adapted for a solidoodle and I have also seen a few pics from the all new, all metal printbot simple hot end. If anyone has the new hot end, could you post the pros and cons of it? I am interested to see when solidoodle sheds some light on it.

You mean extruder, not hotend. They are different.

Pros: doesn't shatter like acrylic
Cons: took SD 2 years to upgrade

Thanks, that's what I meant. I saw a hairline fracture in one of the acrylic plates upon receiving the printer.

Also, now that I have your attention, this Saturday, Robo3d's CEO is going to be doing an AMA regarding the contest on reddit (I placed 3rd) that they stiffed the winners of their prizes. I would appreciate it if you came and vented some steam with me and let Robo3d know how badly they ducked up. Regardless or not that Toybuilder Labs was great enough to fufill the prizes, we can't forget that Robo3d stiffed the winners. See you there Elmoret.
