I talked to one of the Octave guys at the expo last weekend, and got the idea that they have a few suppliers, so maybe they don't get as good a price on the one that makes the blue. He said one of them packed the spools with some kind of shrink wrap around the filament itself, no vacuum, no dessicant. The shrink wrap somehow bonded with the plastic and wouldn't peel off, so they had to throw away $40k worth of filament.
ok thanks
OH, another thing. I have noticed that most of the filament I have used is not true color,I mean it seems to have a white core. (lol white)except. There are sections that are true color tho. Just wondering if anybody else noticed that.I use Octave mainly.I notice it most when I remove a brim, white outline around the object.
That is an optical illusion take that same part that turned white where you peel off the brim and wipe it with acetone....Presto back to the correct color.
it's more of a stress illusion, ever give your filament a sharp bend? same thing

+1 and then wipe that stressed part with acetone and Presto back to original color.
