Topic: Solidoodle 4 XY Axis alignment

I'm not sure how many sd4's there are in the wild but I just received mine and after doing all of the basic calibrations I'm getting some great prints. On prints that have an arc or a circle though I'm getting uneven rounds. I assumed I needed to do the perfect circle calibration from the wiki. However, the new case is blocking the screws that hold the y motor in place. I don't want to totally tear the case off (looks like it's snapped in and held by numerous zipties). Has anyone else ran into this problem yet or have a solution?

have you felt the tension on all three of the belts just to see what they feel like?

I haven't actually seen the SD4 case in person yet so I can't help you on removing it... but am sure it can't be too tricky

Yes. sad

Ronsii, I did very quickly when I was pulling it out of the box but if they are uneven, I was probably too busy drooling to notice. I will look into it more today...

Re: Solidoodle 4 XY Axis alignment

Open the top lid; there's two Phillips screws in the top of the left rail.  Remove those screws and tilt the top of the side panel outward to the left.  There's three tabs that hold the side panel at the bottom, so you may have to raise the SD4 slightly to let them drop free.

It takes about 15 seconds to remove the side panel.  You can now access the Y-motor screws, and even the motherboard and connectors!

I've been having some issues with the power connector also so I need to get to the electronics. So the zipties at the top don't have to come off? Thanks a lot!!
