Topic: new 3D printer users attention!
I think we need this as sticky for new members of 3D printing to help ease their minds of any misconceptions that may cause them to panic. some come into this new wave of technology with preconceived ideas of what to expect. some right some wrong. b4 you do anything rash to your new printer. look through this forum for similar Q&A to what your having issues with and likely you will find a simple solution or that nothing is wrong just needed to know how to do something. any new endeavor can become overwhelming fast when dealing in unfamiliar territory plus the pressure of investing money into what many family members likely call your latest toy or wasted time/money project. (they just dont understand us genius' lol). 1st dont pile on high expectations and short deadlines on yourself here. I paid the extra for a few options to make my printer easy to improve like a cover, heated bed etc. also at least 1 roll of ABS for the 1st year of learning the ropes of my new tool. yes thats right dont expect to make profitable business of this new endeavor for a year, this way the pressure is off and you can learn the ins and outs of the 3D printing world, download some files and free programs listed in these sites as you learn and get acquainted with all this (there is tons to do in preparation for your new hobby, career... feel out what you can and want to use your printer for and where your limits lie in the beginning, build folders of your files, modify any that need repaired etc. get to the point your comfortable doing everything needed to make great prints worthy of sale to pay back your investment and re-invest in more materials to begin making profits. some of you may need longer to do this and some already using 3D printing can get to this point quicker. just dont let your friends and family be able to say "see its been sitting in the corner collecting dust since he got it. ask for help when needed and not found in archives. you can do this. its cheaper and easier than tech school and nobody but yourself can stop you.
welcome to the best thing you've started in years! Mitch ;^>
