Topic: Print quality so far

Reinstating what I mentioned in my introduction, I am highly impressed with out of the box quality of my Solidoodle.  The aluminum bed was slightly warped so I still went with a glass upgrade but everything else is intact and functioning wonderfully!

These are my latest two prints just testing the calibration still, which I need to fine tune quite a bit.  I'm still quite pleased with the bridging, i didn't expect anything but blobs to be honest.

On the dodecahedron chain, I was getting quite a few strings, which welded most of them together, so I couldn't break some of them loose without the structure falling apart.  But I have played with the retraction and acceleration some more and will try again.  When I first printed it I couldn't even finish the print because at the corners it would ooze, then come back and knock the pieces loose.

I am thoroughly enjoying my printer, and I hope to be able to add to the community along with you guys!

That print did really good for not using support!!!

Re: Print quality so far

I really need an enclosure and a fan on the extruder.  I'm hoping once i can properly calibrate my extruder with calipers instead of measuring tape it will help quite a bit.

I have plexiglass, but I'm going to wait for my magnets to come in and get some weather stripping to seal it all in.

Re: Print quality so far

I used velcro tape to attach my plexi no need for weather stripping!
