Topic: Hey guys, support question for slic3r

Hi everyone,

I was wondering what is everyone's best support settings?

I have a 90' over hang on a giraffe and need to have easy pull off when it's done.

I have support active but it's making the print really hard to pull/cut off when it's done.

If that's the model I'm thinking of, it's printable without support.

@ elmoret,
I've tried other files with overhangs of 90' and when the printer gets to that spot it bleeds down and makes a nice beard.  (after couple layers it'll fix itself, but I don't want the hole under the print after I cut and sand the spilt layers.

Re: Hey guys, support question for slic3r

Take look at 3d cc design's settings, then change the interface layers from 0 to 3.  That should create a space of about 3 layers thickness between the model and the support.  The model should still touch the support, but it should simply break off easily.

To print or, 3D print, that is the question...
