Made a Christmas box for the holidays. Wanted something I could give to people for the holidays or any gifting occasion to show off the 3D printer.

Looks Awesome
Great Job!
Thanks again for today
I'm back to printing ![]()
looks nice i assume you used glue or a screw to attatch the bow?
The bow just press-fits in. But you can use some glue if you'd like. I was going to when I finalized what colors i like together.

This is very cool I will be printing out bunches of these. very nice!
These look great! I can't wait to print some when my printer comes.
My printers been dedicated to these boxes the past few days. Figure i'll just throw some candy in it and give it to people.
WOOHOO! My box is the feature item on thingiverse.com

.3 layer height. Was using the standard .42 width, but was having problem layer separation. Switched to .45 width. Speeds are all over the place, I can post a screen shot when I get home.

Haha! When I saw this thread, I was just thinking, "He just printed that great design I saw on Thingiverse." Now I know you actually created it!
Great job. I'm going to go print it now!

Here are my settings. I don't guarantee anything from them...just what I used.
Thanks to mark burhop for the idea. Added files to the original Thingiverse link to add a box for gift cards.

To be fair, it was my wife's idea. She is the gift card queen.
Would you be willing to sell one? I bought a printer for my hubby for xmas and there is a chance it won't arrive in time... giving him a note with estimated arrival time in a printed gift box might be a good plan B ![]()

I can send you one if you just pay shipping cost. Send me a private message with your info and I'll get it sent ![]()
Got the christmas box in the mail and gave it to hubby with a note inside for Christmas. It was such a hit! He took it to work today to show everyone.

When I download these pieces, they are on their side. How do you orient them for printing and are you using supports?
If you are using repetier host there are inputs where you can rotate them around their x,y,z axis. No support necessary if they are in their proper orientation.

Excellent, a picture is worth many words. I wasn't sure on the box top with the square hole for the ribbon, whether it would be OK without a support.
Yea, its a pretty small distance to bridge. And even if it ends up a little messy it's covered by the ribbon.
