Topic: Replacement extruder/hot end for Solidoodle 2

Hello all,
I am looking for a replacement extruder and hot end assembly for the Solidoodle 2. I'd like something decent and off the shelf which I can source in the UK and which will more or less drop straight in without modification to mount/cabling.
Any ideas ?
Mark

E3D is UK based and well-reviewed.

It will require a replacement to the mount, though.  But it's one you can print and that has a number of other advantages.

I don't think there's anything that won't require a change to the mount, but I could be wrong.

You probably won't find anything that won't require some amount of re-wiring either; at a minimum you're looking at reusing/replacing the thermistor and heat core connectors.

In addition to this and the mount, the E3D also requires running power to its fan and updating the firmware.

Hunter Green's write up is excellent and many would agree it's a worthwhile upgrade, but know what you're in for.
