Topic: Data Storage Buffer

I am new to the home printing community with my Solidoodle 2, and have a couple of questions.  I have been looking around the forum to see if they have been asked before, but couldn't find anything.  So I apologize in advance if the same questions were asked many times before.

Does the computer have to be connected to the Solidoodle during the entire print job?  Is there any internal buffer memory on the Solidoodle 2 that can store the Gcode for the print job, and is there a size limit?  Has anyone with more experience ever considered adding an SD card port to the Solidoodle 2 so that you wouldn't need to attach a computer (and tie it up for the whole print job)?

Re: Data Storage Buffer

Hi Greg, No there isn't much of a buffer in the main board on the printer but there are several people working on the SD front and a few threads on here about it, here is the first thing a searh of this site came up with  ---> http://www.soliforum.com/topic/2470/bet … t-chg-etc/ hopefully this give you a little more info and sheds some light on the subject for you smile
