Topic: SD3 Aluminum bed
Is the new aluminum bed a significant improvement over the wooden one? I realize wood is susceptable to temperature and humidity changes, but if my printer is located in a relatively stable environment would I realize an improvement worth the expense and installation trouble?
I have noticed in discussions that the aluminum bed could benefit from a front end stablizer to reduce shaking the same as the wooden one, so I'm not seeing the new bed as a significant improvement in stability in that sense. I'm curious as to what the actual benefits are.
I was away from my printer all summer and missed the release of the aluminum bed. I did a quick search and didn't find any relevant discussion. Maybe I was searching in the wrong area or time frame and this has been thoroughly discussed.
