Topic: Print the Smithsonian!

Or at least, some of their exhibits.  I love seeing places like that get into the 3D printing realm, and the thought of printing out replicas of some of the stuff available is exciting.  Now if the site would stay available long enough for me to see all the models.

Downloading the "print-ready" model of Lincoln's face. It's 125 MB zipped, which will make it the largest .stl I've ever dealt with. More to report when I find out if I can slice it.

Nice of them to include the point-cloud data too from the original laser scan. Means you can rebuild the models yourself quite extensively.
