Topic: meshlab, import file size

I use kinect and skanect to scan with. I am finding that a  head/shoulder scan when saved as a STL is about 75mb. When I try to import it to meshlab I get an end of file error.Any meshlab users out there that can tell me why?  Is there a file size limit maybe?

SD3, E3D hotend,linear bearing on x/y axis',pillow block bearing on y conneting rod, ball bearngs on front y axis, fan on y stepper motor.

It's not the file size per se, it's the number of polygons/triangles and vertices. 

I've ran into things like this before, where I got a model with more than 8 million faces.  Even though I have 16GB of RAM, I still had a hard time loading it.  To make sure all the resources and RAM were available, I restarted the computer, then immediately started Meshlab and loaded the model. 

It took like 5 minutes to load it but it did, then I ran a simplification filter (Quadratic Edge Collapse Decimation), and set the and set the target number of faces to something like 250K faces, which reduced the number of faces and vertices dramatically, without loosing detail, then saved it again as STL, and the file dropped to less than a 10th it's size.

Try doing the same and see if it works.  You might also try starting your PC in safe mode.  If you're running in 32bit mode, you might have a problem, as you only have access to about 3GB to total memory (assuming you actually have 4GB installed.
