small prints

The filament isn't melting too fast, it just isn't getting a chance to solidify before the next layer gets printed on top of it.  The easiest thing to do is add something else to print along with it to give the small part time to cool.  You can print a bunch of the small parts on the same plate, or you can add something simple like a cylinder next to it and scale Z to make it the same height as whatever you are printing.
