Topic: Firmware

On the new Solidoodle Printrboards are we using the info these from Printrboard  http://reprap.org/wiki/Printrboard  . I do not see any support about this from Solidoodle. I am having a over extrusion problem and wanted to change it in the firmware.

Most settings can be set in Repetier-Host using the dialogue found under Config > Firmware EEPROM Configuration.

For all the info regarding the solidoodle firmware for the Printrboard, check these links:

SD3 w/ mods:
Glass bed with QU-BD heat pad upgrade, threadless ballscrew w/ 8mm smooth rod, spectra line belt replacement, lawsy MK5 extruder, Lawsy replacement carriage, E3D hotend, Ramps 1.4 w/ reprap discount controller, DRV8825 drivers, 12v 30A PS, Acrylic case, Overkill Y-idlers, Filament alarm, Extruder fan + more.

Re: Firmware

Also in the Arduino what board are we working off of AT90USB1286. If so i will also need to add it in the hardware of the IDE.

Re: Firmware

Scene i am extruding 115mm instead of 100mm can this be fixed in the EEPROM?

Enter 87% (100 / 115) of the old steps per mm for the extruder in the RH dialogue box.

I have it exactly at 100mm now by changing the feed rate to 45. Don't know if that is the correct way but it worked. Still have a over extrusion. I changed the skeinforge speed from 100 to 50 in the flow rate and it has helped but still not there yet. Is this the correct place to adjust the over extrusion?  Seems i don't have the quotes figured out yet either

I don not see where the 87% would go, i only see everything is in " per mm ". Dialog box?

Re: Firmware

Figuring out the steps/mm of the extruder - ignore anything about uploading the firmware, enter the new steps/mm in the EEPROM Config in Repetier

http://solidoodletips.wordpress.com/201 … libration/

Setting the extrustion multiplier in Slic3r to get the right flow rate for the filament you are using-

http://solidoodletips.wordpress.com/201 … flow-rate/

If you really must use the Skeinforge that is installed with Repetier. Keep in mind that any Solidoodle profiles in Skeinforge were meant for an earlier version and do not work for the version that installs with Repetier-

http://solidoodletips.wordpress.com/201 … nforge-50/

If you are extruding 115mm and want to extrude 100mm, then the steps/mm need to be reduced by (100/115) which is 86.9%.  So if the current steps/mm is 138, change it to 86.9% of that, which is 120.

if you have a value of 100 for the extruder in the eeprom.., you need to replace it by 87    (87% of 100 wink )

(line : steps per mm , box E  (like Extruder) at the right side wink )

then click on 'save to eeprom'

end of story

Not quite the end - someone might want to mention there is a "Config->Eeprom settings" menu item you need to click on (after connecting) to bring up the dialog where these settings appear :-).
