Topic: Nylon powder

So I happen to get my hands on a few hundred pounds of nylon powder. I was asked to keep it low key but everyone knows where this stuff is coming from. I have it in sealed Home Depot buckets approx 20-25 pounds each. If anyone happens to be in the New Jersey area and is looking for a fantastic price on the stuff please let me know. I need my storage area back.

If it is PA2200, there's a thread on it here: http://www.soliforum.com/topic/3203/any … -in-nylon/

Re: Nylon powder

Same stuff. I originally got it to make the filament so the maker space I belong to could play with it.  I cant make/use this fast enough. I figured it is working for me and I have quite a bit, others might want to play also. Anything I make I am splitting with the maker space to help with fundraising. All I am asking for is my fuel and the cost of the buckets to store all this stuff, everything after that is going to fund raising.

Original plan is it is what Shapeways uses in the strong and flexible product, at least what I had. I had 1400lbs, down to about 250 now.

I have never heard of ABS and PLA mixed together, I don't think it would work well because they have such different melting temperatures. I have mixed nylon and ABS before though, seems to work great.

I'm not sure if you could get to a 50/50 ratio because the powder might settle out, but at 80/20 ABS/nylon, the powder covered the pellets pretty evenly.

Re: Nylon powder

Same stuff but I was asked not to advertise how I came to acquire it. I don't know if the up-line would like a secondary market for powder.

Re: Nylon powder

Obviously I'm a bit late to the party, but would you happen to have any powder left? Or know where to get more?
