Topic: How Long and how Plausible

Hello Soliforum!

I have a pretty broad question but im hoping you can help me get my thoughts narrowed down. Basically it is this: How long would it take from beginner to completion before i am able to print something even remotely resembling that purple object in the middle of the picture (attached picture) to an objective audience?

Ok i know that printer levels vary (dont start yelling at me! ;P ), SO, my next question is this. What level printer would be best to create an object like that and what sort of cost would I be looking at and also what sort of time frame before its on my doorstep? Any guidance is appreciated!

How big are you wanting to print it?  How detailed do you want it?  Do you want a REALLY strong print or is it just going to sit there and look pretty? I have an SD3 and lets say you want it pretty detailed but nothing super fancy and you are running about stock speeds (like me currently) and its going to be about 6" high or so....that would be about a 4 hour print maybe.  If you went smaller (like 4" tall) then scale your time back.  As far as a "level" of printer thats a hard guess.  It comes down to again what you are wanting to do with it.  If your wanting to know how long before you are able to print something like that (as far as skills needed) then really as soon as you can get your printer calibrated and running good your all set.  I had mine pretty well lined out at day 2.  I have made tweaks since then to make it better but those things I printed werent bad.  I hope this helps but if you need a more specific answer a little more information would be a good thing.
