Topic: Question of building a 3D printer

Not sure whether this is the  right place. But I have got something to do .
I have been planning building a 3D printer for a long time. i am college student and I have bulit a few projects with the help of my classmates.
This time I want to do it by myself----3D printer.
This idea came from a blog post from sainsmart
This post is about a 3D printer project and I really want to bulid a similiar one under the instruction of this blog.
Have anyone of you have the related experience of 3D printer, I am not sure whether I can make it if I follow the instruction of the blog. Beside, what components i may need in this project, hepl please.

The advice I see almost anytime someone talks about building a printer from scratch is to first try building a reprap or similar from a kit. You learn a LOT from the process, and it will make you more able and knowledgable to try something new.
