Topic: Printing small parts.

Sorry if this has already been answered, but while printing some very small parts, I noted that the previously laid plastic is still molten and gets distorted with the motion of the print nozzle.  I have heard mention of layers being delayed, but after looking through the available settings in slic3r, I don't see any setting that I recognize as being able to delay layers.  Can someone give me a hint on which of the settings allow for this?
Thanks in advance, happy printing.

You should check your retraction.  Z lift may do the trick for you.

Re: Printing small parts.

It's cooling and minimum layer time.  The best solution is a gcode controlled fan on the nozzle.  The easiest is to print something else at the same time like a cylinder the same height.  The layer on the model has time to cool while the cylinder is getting printed.  It uses more plastic, but it is worth it to make the small object work.

yeah Ive read to just print a second object at the same time, like what IanJohnson said  I have tried it with some small hobby parts - a servo control horn for example, and it worked flawlessly!  I also printed in the highest detail and fine speed.
