Topic: My first 'useful' project

I lost my vacuum cleaner's crevice tool, and it's an older Dyson so a replacement wasnt going to come cheap.

Awesome job man. I love using my printer for everyday items. I feel like I am taking my money back out of the pockets of some large corp. :-)

SD3 w/ mods:
Glass bed with QU-BD heat pad upgrade, threadless ballscrew w/ 8mm smooth rod, spectra line belt replacement, lawsy MK5 extruder, Lawsy replacement carriage, E3D hotend, Ramps 1.4 w/ reprap discount controller, DRV8825 drivers, 12v 30A PS, Acrylic case, Overkill Y-idlers, Filament alarm, Extruder fan + more.

I look for things of my wife's that i can fix with the printer.  that way she's not so mad at me for buying it.. lol  i printed out a barbie doll table from thingverse for her friend at work and now she's a lot less mad... since she has something she can show of.. lol

My son's bell for his bike broke because the thumb actuator arm snapped so the gear couldn't spin.  I pulled the pieces, glued them back together, but realized the pieces were too small.  I whipped up a brace that fit around the joint and the arm and glued it on top of it.  Wrapped the piece with floral wire for strength and he has a bell again...

Love being able to just repair things on the fly with no lag time... small enough piece that it only took me 20 minutes to model, print and repair.

I'm lucky, my partrner, she's almost as excited as I am. Almost  smile

I made sure I printed off a Hellboy bust as one of the very first items and that gave her something to boast about at work, next on the list is a rocket and a robot and she'll be a happy geek girl.
