Topic: how to get rid of the first 3 layers of print?

so how do i setup slicer to start printing on the first layer?  I always get the three support layers  directly under the part i'm printing.  can i turn that off?  should i turn that off?

Have you made sure 'Raft' is unticked in Slic3r settings Support material ?
