Re: Solidoodle starts shipping our new motherboard

so after reading all this think Ill just keep my old board since all I want is to add a Gcode controlled fan on extruder for bridging and another 5 volt 40mm fan on carriage motor plus maybe heat sinks for it and board drivers plus the board fan made for board that blows out at sides and mounts above board to save space in rear like another member here uses. and solidoodle says new board dont have pins installed for them either (main reason I wanted one). still want the aluminum bed though as the composit one is a bot weak. also still no info/price on solidoodle parts list site for new board (should be free upgrade to recent purchasers, I paid the $200 extra for case then saw it causes overheating more and limits access during prints use plexi for dust covers and buy more filament with savings is my tip). if ya want the board and base upgrades just buy another printer at twice the cost of those 2 items and they come ready to use with no install hassles.

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs

Re: Solidoodle starts shipping our new motherboard

Yeah I don't think anyone suggested the board was an upgrade.. simply the new board they are shipping now. You'd be far better off getting a RAMPS or similar ilk to replace it anyway as there would indeed be no benefit that I can see in getting this board to replace a functioning Sang... the PWM Fan MOSFET isn't huge, and has been known to be burned out with not a huge amount of effort (based on Printrboards anyway - I know of 3 owners that have managed to do so...)... so you are better off going for a 'big' MOSFET and doing it the 'old' way...
