Topic: Problem printing Rodin's "The Thinker"

I recently went to Thingiverse and downloaded the stl file for Rodin's "The Thinker." The print almost worked, except the overhanging hand did not work (see attached pictures). Is there any setting I can change to help remedy this? I'm new to 3D printing and don't really know where to start tackling this problem. Thanks.

You will want to enable supports while printing.  That will tell the slicing software to create breakaway towers beneath any part of the print that has an overhand of 45 degrees or less.

Re: Problem printing Rodin's "The Thinker"

Thanks, I see how to do that in configuring Slic3r. Now a follow-up question: when I enable supports, the program does not create the supports I need (namely, underneath the overhanging hand). I tried changing the angle from 45 degrees, but that doesn't seem to work. I'm not sure which way I'm supposed to go, but when I set the angle to 85 degrees I get the first attached image, and when I set the angle to 5 degrees I get the second image. Neither are all that helpful. (The 45-degree angle image looks very similar to the 5-degree image.) Is there any way to go in by hand and insert a support where you want it? Thanks.
