yeah, filling the holes make it a bit harder but easy enough to drill em' out if someone doesn't have advanced soldering skills.

Wow. Shipping "our new motherboard" implies it is new - why not call it what it is, if it is indeed a printrboard?

But it is all new! The printerboard doesn't have connections for the fan and LED strip above the last driver chip. So, totally different.

Anyways, when compiling your firmware choose 81 for board type.

Just a heads up, if a stepper driver goes pop, you have to replace the whole board.
On Printrboard forums you'll see this isn't exactly rare.
Should be a nice little money earner for Solidoodle when combined with their mega profit shipping prices.

My bad I meant printrbot. I have no idea why I said board when I meant bot.
Printrbot has been offering 500w power supplies as an upgrade. They even have been telling its users to get a funky "Y" cable so you can pump more power into the board.
I cant help but wonder if this is why their boards are having issues.

They 'should' be set correctly....but it probably wouldn't hurt to check them.

Anybody else notice how quiet SolidoodleSupport has been since the revelation was made that their new revolutionary motherboard was nothing more than a re-badged Printrboard with some of the existing features removed?

I'm more keen to hear where they have hosted their Schematic and Board files, since its a CC ShareAlike 3.0 licence - http://reprap.org/wiki/Printrboard
SolidoodleSupport; can you post the URL with the required to be available under the licence files for the required public access as you have reused a CC ShareAlike 3.0 board and made modifications? This request is also inclusive of your 'new' firmware version as shipped as that is also Open Source.
Thanks btw, for supporting Open Source Hardware. I know you have put a high priority on ensuring licence compliance on Solidoodle's own Parts - this is why you can never post the designs for Solidoodles own 3D Printed parts as 'They are closed source' - so I have no doubts that the URL already exists and all the files are already posted somewhere because I know you'd apply that same level of importance and integrity to other peoples already open source works.

They put an attribution on the board itself so I am sure they know all of the requirements of the license and have done everything you have said. In fact they told the guys in the shipping department to do it two weeks ago.

...well I just wasted 1.5 hours. Just getting into it and seems like this company could use some PR work, but not surprising for something small. I have no problem with them using open source and trying to save money. But they really need to update their guide. The recommended drivers DO NOT WORK!!! @!#$^
Thanks to you guys being on top of it I figured this out. The drivers for the Printrbot worked to get it up an going on a COM port as intended (further proving this is a Printrbot design). Way to make a change and not update guides.
